| HISTORY |
The Block was with SPAFE (Elf Subsidiary) during the 1950’s to late 60’s . Has got 24 well drilled. There are Oil shows, Gas shows, Oil flows and Dry wells Though Oil was discovered in FT 2000 way back in 1950’s the commercial viability at USD 9 per Barrel was not a great incentive against the logistical problem (then) and the size of the find itself. But today’s price of USD 50+ per Barrel is definitely a great attraction for any E&P company. British Gas did 2D seismic in the year 1991 thro 1992.
This block was originally called the Abanga and has now been renamed as Shakti. |
